Trustee

AUSCOAL Superannuation Pty Ltd (ABN 70 003 566 989; AFSL 246864; RSE L0002783) is the Trustee Company that is responsible for the Fund's management and investment decisions.

About the Trustee

The corporate Trustee is jointly owned on behalf of coal industry employers and employees by the:

NSWMC Logo NSW Minerals Council (NSWMC) - 25%
QRC Queensland Resources Council (QRC) - 25%
CFMEU Logo Construction Forestry Mining Energy Union (CFMEU) - Mining and Energy Division - 50%.

The role of the Trustee is to manage AUSCOAL Super, on behalf of coal industry employers and members.

The Trustee's job is to make sure the Fund:

  • works in the best interests of members
  • follows the Trust Deed (the Fund's rule book), and
  • follows superannuation laws and regulations.

Board of Directors

The Trustee has a Board of nine Directors. The Board of Directors consists of employer and member nominated representatives in equal numbers and one independent director.

The Trustee has in place a number of Committees, namely Investment Committee, Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee, Remuneration & Organisational Development Committee, Group Strategy Committee, and Claims Committee. These Committees meet on numerous occasions throughout the year.

The Trustee uses a range of specialists to assist in looking after the Fund and its investments. Details of AUSCOAL Super's investment managers and other organisations associated with managing the Fund are outlined in the Service Providers area of the website.
