Your Privacy

In order to provide you with superannuation benefits, including death and disability benefits, and to properly manage the Fund and provide services to you, AUSCOAL Super holds personal information about you that identifies you as a member and typically includes your name, address, date of birth, gender, occupation, salary, Tax File Number, medical information, usage of the AUSCOAL Super website and any other required information.

AUSCOAL Super generally collects this information either from you or your employer. Your personal information may be disclosed to AUSCOAL Services Pty Ltd as the Fund's administrator, AUSCOAL Advisory Services Pty Ltd and other professional advisers, insurers, government bodies, your employer and other parties as required, including the trustee of any other fund you may transfer to.

By becoming a member of AUSCOAL Super, it is assumed that you consent to this handling of your personal information. If you do not provide the Fund with your personal information, the Fund may not be able to provide your superannuation benefits and choices other than benefits, required by law.

In some cases AUSCOAL Super is required by law to collect personal information about you. For example under tax legislation AUSCOAL Super is required to collect your Tax File Number before it can accept after tax (non-concessional) contributions from you. Also under anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing legislation, AUSCOAL Super must collect certain information about you before payment of benefits or commencing pension payments.

You can access your personal information held by AUSCOAL Super. Should any of your personal information be incorrect, you may have the opportunity to correct it. There are, however, some circumstances where you may be denied access to your information. AUSCOAL Super's Privacy Officer will advise if any of these circumstances apply. AUSCOAL Super abides by the National Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth) and has adopted a Privacy Policy which sets out in more detail the way in which we handle members' personal information.
