What is super?
Super is a special investment ‘structure’ with tax advantages created by the government to help people save for retirement during their working life.
Growing my super balance
When you join AUSCOAL Super we set up an account for you called an ‘accumulation’ account.
Calculating my super balance
Each business day we calculate the value of your account using a daily unit price.
How much can I contribute?
The government limits how much you can put into your super each year and still receive tax concessions. These limits are called contribution caps.
Fees and taxes
We’ll deduct some money from your account to cover the cost of looking after and investing your money. We’ll also deduct any government tax on your employer contributions and investment earnings.
Who’ll get my super if I die?
If you die, your super is given to your dependants. By nominating your beneficiaries, you can help decide who your dependants are.
Take us to a new job
You can stay with AUSCOAL Super when you get a new job, even one outside the coal industry.
Protecting my identity
Advances in technology are making identity fraud one of the fastest growing crimes in Australia. See what simple precautions you can take to protect your identity.
